SG 813a 1962 Health. 3d. + 1d. Tieke Saddleback. ‘Orange omitted’. SUM.

New Zealand 1962 Queen Elizabeth II 3d. + 1d. Health Stamp.  Right marginal example.  Variety, ‘Orange omitted’.  Superb unmounted mint condition (with normal for comparison).  KGVI Expertising Certificate No. 1180/01-10 (2010).  EXCEEDINGLY RARE.  Note : the missing orange causes the loss of colour from the background and the bird’s wing feathers.  It also results in the fruit appearing in the yellow underlay colour.  The two right columns of a sheet were affected resulting in 12 copies with orange missing – however, the bottom marginal strip comprising 2 examples was stolen along with various other stamps from Dealers Bridger & Kay on 12 February 1964.  It is believed the stolen copies were destroyed.
