South Africa/Cape of Good Hope 1863-1864 6d. bright mauve. Superb lightly mounted and unmounted mint block of SIXTEEN with normal gum wrinkling/creasing associated with this issue and three small fox spots, one of which shows through to the front. Printed from the Perkins Bacon Plates by De La Rue. THIS BLOCK IS THE FINEST IN EXISTENCE IN THIS QUALITY. (There is only one other block of eighteen which is in bad condition). Provenance : BURRUS. AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE PHILATELIC RARITY. (SACC 16)
