Great Britain  1840 Queen Victoria 1d. black.  Plate 11.  Lettered MD.  Superb used condition.  Cancelled by a fine strike of the Maltese Cross in black.  Royal Philatelic Society Certificate No. 89,884 (1975).  THIS IS A VERY RARE STAMP BEING THE RAREST AND FINAL PLATE USED FOR THE PRINTING OF THE PENNY BLACK.
