Hong Kong 1941 King George VI 8c. red-brown. Top marginal, vertical strip of 3. Variety, ‘Imperforate (strip of THREE)’. Superb mint and unmounted condition (hinged on top margin and bottom stamp only). This piece comes from the original strip of 5 that survived from the single sheet issued. (It is thought that most imperforate stamps were sold as singles for use on letters to China). Provenance : Sir Percival David. THIS ITEM IS UNIQUE AND OF UTMOST PHILATELIC AND HISTORIC IMPORTANCE.
